Equipping your home with a photovoltaic self consumption system can generate added value when you sell a home, an industrial building or an office space.

Some reluctant property owners may think the contrary. In their view, they will not benefit from the initial investment if they sell the property, since effectively they decide to pay for a solar installation in the sole interest of the future owner. The opposite scenario is highly more likely! It is often easier and faster to sell a house equipped with a photovoltaic self consumption installation than a “classic” house. This is a good reason to equip a solar installation for self consumption!

Generally, the lifespan of solar panels is considered to be greater than 30 years. It is therefore a long term investment, which will allow the future owner, in the case of an installation dedicated to self consumption, to make significant savings on future electricity bills. This is a powerful advantage which must be highlighted to the potential buyer visiting the property you have put on sale!

On the other hand, an installation for photovoltaic self consumption with batteries can definitely convince potential buyers concerned about the environment and the future of their children. The awareness of the risks associated with the use of fossil fuels is intensifying, consuming and producing “sustainable” energy is increasingly in tune with the times and sways new people every day. Solar self consumption is clearly part of this process and can therefore bolster the interest of potential real estate buyers.

To sum up, if you think that you will sell your home in a few years, do not hesitate to equip it with a photovoltaic self consumption system! I’s a win-win for you and the new owner: you will sell your property more easily and the future buyer will benefit from significant savings on electricity bills.

The IMEON solar inverter is network-connected and has the ability to communicate with various peripheral devices (batteries via CAN communication protocol, monitoring platforms via RS485 protocol, connected devices …), it therefore becomes a full-fledged component of a modern smart home or any home automation system.

The term home automation refers to a set of techniques in electronics, automation, computing and telecommunication used to centralize the control of different devices within the building (heating system, shutters, garage door, entrance gate, electrical outlets, etc.). Home automation aims to provide comfort features (energy management, optimization of lighting and heating), security (alarm) and communication (remote controls, visual or audible signals, etc.) that can be deployed in homes, hotels, public places etc.

In this context IMEON is much more than just a solar inverter, it’s designed to become a centerpiece of the smart home system. The different integrated communications interfaces, the computing capacity of the built-in processor as well as the artificial intelligence operating inside our solar inverter, allow IMEON to learn, predict and anticipate events in order to adjust its behavior and management schemes with respect to objectives defined by the user. The applications we develop, which are available through the IMEON OS. ONE interface, allow the user to update their IMEON so that it can constantly develop and communicate with new connected devices.

IMEON is much more than just a solar inverter!

By acquiring an IMEON ENERGY solution for solar self-consumption, the user saves a lot of energy and proportionally reduces his electricity bill. Solar self-consumption is a sustainable way to guard against the announced increases in electricity costs for years to come. With a well-sized photovoltaic self-consumption solution, it is possible to reduce the electricity consumption of your home by 20% to 80% or more.

IMEON hybrid inverters for solar self-consumption adapt to the user’s budget. It is possible, at first, to equip your home with an IMEON 3.6 or 9.12 without batteries in order to limit the initial investment and to evolve the installation by adding a storage afterwards (you can use lead or lithium batteries). Note well that it is mandatory to use batteries for solar installations on isolated sites.

For grid-connected, self-consumption installations, if the user does not know exactly how much electricity is being consumed and it is therefore difficult to optimally scale the required battery capacity, it may be wise to start self-consumption without batteries. This is often the case for new constructions, for which it is difficult to predict the precise consumption profile. The installer will be able to set up a hybrid IMEON inverter without batteries and evaluate self-production rate after, for instance, one year of operation in order to scale the storage according to this parameter.

Adding batteries to the solar self-consumption system will not require any major changes. It will be enough to add a battery circuit breaker as well as the necessary fuses for the protection of the storage. Thanks to the modularity of its solutions, IMEON ENERGY allows the number of people to save energy.

The lifespan of solar modules is generally more than 30 years, investing in a photovoltaic system is therefore a choice that will allow the user to achieve energy savings over the long term.

At present, global warming is an important issue. In our interest and that of future generations, it is urgent to react and find solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, largely responsible for climate change.

Around the globe, power production based on fossil fuels generates a significant part of greenhouse gas emissions. One of the solutions to reduce these emissions is to focus on carbon free renewable energies and more particularly on solar energy to produce the electricity we all need.

We can all act in this way by equipping our homes with individual solar installations for self-consumption in order to become self-producers of clean electricity, not generating CO2: living in an autonomous house in terms of electricity is a first step towards energy independence.

In addition to the clean and ecological aspect of electricity production using solar energy, photovoltaic self-consumption installation enables homeowners to reduce their dependence on conventional electricity suppliers and to clearly indicate their willingness to consume energy in a sustainable and responsible way.

Making your house energy self-sufficient is part of an approach identical to cultivating your garden, cutting wood to heat your home or collecting rainwater to water your garden.

Contrary to popular belief, making your home autonomous in terms of electricity is now possible by using self-consumption solar batteries.

For several years, the prices of components required for this type of installation have been steadily declining. The result is simple: today, the electricity generated by a solar self-consumption installation is competitive, in terms of price, with that sold by the electricity suppliers.

Do not wait any longer! Make your home autonomous by choosing IMEON ENERGY solutions.

A self-consumption photovoltaic installation aims to meet, partially or fully, the energy consumption needs of the building. Usually, a self-consumption installation with batteries requires various components which must individually be appropriately sized and have the capability to work together as a system. These components are: an MPPT regulator (or solar charger or MPPT charger), an off grid inverter (or DC / AC converter) and a transfer switch to switch from solar power supply to a secondary power supply if the battery is empty (public electricity distribution network or a generator).

The IMEON solar inverter is an “all-in-one” solution which encases all the elements necessary for the implementation of a self-consumption photovoltaic system. For the installer, the IMEON inverters simplify the implementation of a self-consumption system and therefore greatly reduce the installation time.

IMEON solutions have an integrated MPPT controller. This component is responsible for finding the voltage value at which the solar panel delivers the maximum power. This value is retained as long as conditions remain unchanged. When external factors such as a clouds, shadows, or a change in temperature start playing a role, the MPPT regulator adapts the voltage of the panels to the new peak performance point.

The IMEON solar inverter is designed to adapt to all types of self-consumption solar installations:

Electrification of isolated sites (the term “off grid” is commonly used for this type of installation).

Self-consumption on a network connected site with or without batteries.

Self-consumption on a network connected site with backup.

IMEON is an all-in-one solar inverter and the essential compact solution for photovoltaic self-generation: simplified installation, quick setup, optimized efficiency, reduced package. The IMEON hybrid inverter facilitates the work of installers while optimizing the cost of solar-generated kWh.

The Dashboard is the central point of the monitoring interface: it outlines, with aid of uncomplicated graphical interface, all the information concerning the solar self-consumption installation. The Dashboard window contains essential information such as: the power drawn by the site, the share of electricity supplied by solar photovoltaic panels, batteries and the public distribution network as well as the rate of self-production (also called rate of autonomy).

Several terms can be used to describe the performance of a solar installation for self-consumption:

The rate of self-production: for the user this is the most important term because it represents the autonomy of the house vis-à-vis the public electricity distribution network. It also represents the savings, in the form of consumed electricity, which the user makes thanks to self-consumption photovoltaic installation.

The rate of self-consumption: it is the part of the electricity production generated by the solar installation which is consumed directly on site. The higher this rate, the lower the amount of electricity fed into the public grid. It is possible to optimize the rate of self-consumption by putting certain electrical appliances into operation during the day, when the solar installation generates the most energy.

The coverage rate: this is the ratio between the total production of the solar installation and the electricity consumption of the site.

Moreover, the dashboard displays information related to the battery:

The state of charge, also called SOC represents the level of battery charge. It’s the exact opposite of the DOD which describes the depth of discharge.

The status of the battery: during discharge (as well as the discharge current expressed in amperes), during charge (as well as the charging current expressed in amperes) or disconnected. When the battery is blinking, it is charging and the threshold at which discharge is allowed has not yet been reached.

The Map page allows an instant verification of the operating status of all solar inverters whose position has been defined during the registration of the monitoring account. The positioning of the solar inverters on the map is defined by address indicated during registration.

The purpose of the park management supervision feature is to enable installers to quickly react to events that may impact the performance of the solar inverters and to trigger fast preventive actions. For the user, the park management provides increased security of the system’s operation.

The color of the geo-location picker varies depending on the collected data: solid green indicates the correct operation, flashing green indicates that the internet connection is slow, red indicates that the inverter has stopped following a fault condition, orange warns one of a non-critical problem and black indicates that the entered serial number is incorrect.

From the map view, the installer can then check the real-time status of the photovoltaic plant’s production and the events that were registered by the solar inverter, simply by clicking on the serial number associated with the particular installation.

The map view is followed by a table that allows one to browse through and filter the installations, with use of the search field located at the top right of the table. Clicking on a plus sign in the top-left corner of the table will bring up the page where new user accounts can be created.

IMEON ENERGY has developed a monitoring interface that allows users, installers and distributors to remotely monitor the operation and performance of installations outfitted with IMEON hybrid inverters. This intuitive web interface, developed in HTML5, is accessible from any device (PC, tablet or Smartphone). It is important to take into account that in order to have access to IMEON monitoring services, it is necessary that the inverter is connected to the internet.

To be able to connect to IMEON monitoring interface, the user must have a dedicated account. The account is created by the installer responsible for the solar self-consumption installation. After the creation of the account, the user will receive an email containing an identifier and a password allowing him to access the services. To connect to IMEON monitoring, the user must then log in to https://monitoring.imeon-energy.com/.

From IMEON web monitoring platform, the user will have remote access to all the historical operating data of his self – consumption system: electricity generated by the photovoltaic system, the production consumed directly, the production stored in the battery bank, the production injected into the public electricity distribution network and much more! It is important to remember that connecting your IMEON inverter to the web monitoring service automatically affords a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.

The timeline allows you to visualize all the events that occurred on the hybrid inverter. It is a simple way to trace he different events that have strewn the product life and provides a quick diagnostic to installers.

It is in the form of a thread where each element is differentiated by its color and a pictogram.
The information event, in blue, indicates a state change in the product, such as updates or the first hybrid inverter first operation. The alerts, in yellow, warn of a non-critical annoyance in the operation of the inverter, such as a power outage or a battery not connected. The communication problems, in grey with a chain icon, warn of a loss of data transmission with the inverter external components (internet, smart-meter, battery). Significant malfunctions for the inverter, in red, indicate a critical damage to the hybrid inverter. The violations of the normal operating conditions defined in the specifications of the hybrid inverter show in black. A detected violation removes the warranty in the event of operational problems that subsequently occur. For example, if the power consumed on the secured output exceeds the tolerated overload curve provided in the user manual, an event will be activated and visible from the timeline.
In the near future, events may be set by the user, such as exceeding a power threshold produced by photovoltaic panels or the crossing of a percentage of battery charge level. These events allow you to personalize your experience and display what matters to you.
On the installer side, a detailed table view with built-in filters can diagnose the events that have occurred to trace their origin through a detailed walk. More advanced diagnostic tools under development will help determine the causal relationships between certain events and errors that damaged the hybrid inverter to simplify the timeline analysis.
